Gold-acacia
The gold-acacia (Acacia pycnantha) is a species in the subfamily of Mimosa (Mimosoideae) within the legume family (Fabaceae). It is National flower symbol of Australia and figured in the arms.

Occurrence
The gold acacia has its natural distribution areas of the south of the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia to western Victoria and southern inland areas of New South Wales, Tasmania also. The gold acacia grows mostly in dry shrubs and heaths on sandy and stony soils. In areas with annual rainfall between 350 mm and 1000 mm.

It is for example in southern Africa and the western United States an invasive plant.
