The Felt Dwarf Weed

Felt Dwarf weed (Filago minima synonym: Logfia minima) is an annual plant, which belongs to the Compositae family (Asteraceae). The species is found in Europe. The Dutch name herb has felt the plant due to the fact that, apart from the lower area is completely covered with very fine white hairs, making it appear that the plant is moldy.

The plant is 2-15 cm high and has a bifid stem with protruding branches. The lancet shaped petals are 3-4 mm.

Miniature Felt Herb flowers from July to September, 2-3 mm long, egg-shaped cone heads. The heads are in clusters of two to seven by each other. The carpels are keeled and the inner leaves have a bare, membranous, yellow top. The head has no stroschubjes. The tubular flowers are yellow-white. The waste is composed of different Pappus hairs.

Dwarf Season Felt occurs on dry, sandy limestone poor.
