The strawberry cinquefoil (Potentilla sterilis) is a plant of the rose family (Rosaceae). The species is on the Dutch Red List of plants collected and fairly rare. The plant in the Netherlands, mainly in South Limburg.
The plant is 5-20 cm tall with white flowers and blooms from March until May The leaves are ternate with a silver-fringed edge. The underside of the leaves have a bluish green color. The gander is short thick strawberry runners.
The strawberry cinquefoil grows on lime-rich, moist soil and is found on slopes and in deciduous forests.
